"Can we please get immediate support of portable items of food and drink arranged for the bus terminal?"

Second purchase and drop off by the @UnshelteredC funds raised! Having heard there were supposed to be snacks and drinks at the local Charles Street bus terminal for the #homeless yet finding none, we purchased 200$ in snacks that those without food can access there! 1/2 pic.twitter.com/5oWuyhXRdC

Side question: @RegionWaterloo & @GRT_ROW Why have your frontline staff at the Charles Street Terminal not been offered PPE?
Should security guards not receive such for their safety?

Today I spoke to some individuals who are without shelter, seeking  to better connect in direct conversation to understand their current needs and how to offer our aid accordingly. There are many things that can be done, so we continue to take the small steps to identify the best methods to assist and to integrate the needed measures in a safe way for all.

One such need is food.

There is Regional management (I think such lay in their hands at least) of the food supply being offered to the local outputs at Ray of Hope and St Johns Soup Kitchen. I am told the food is great! Bingemans cooks and supplies these meals and they are doing a great job as well as are the volunteers/staff distributing these items.

Yet there remain gaps. I'd like to focus on just a small one first. Such is in no way intended to critique the value and awesomeness of the current measures being taken. They are very much appreciated.

We need to address a snack station supply and drink availability between the two available meals each day, easily done at the Charles Street Bus Terminal.

Many individuals relay that they remain hungry and need more food yet find difficulty in accessing more nutrition due to the pandemic measures at play.

Various individuals have expressed that finding added food at the Charles Street Bus depot has been of great help. However it is of issue that those currently aiding to supply, such as Food not Bombs or the Unsheltered Campaign, cannot of course provide to the extent needed at this location independently. We need hamper or government aid for this location.

Can we please get immediate support of portable items of food and drink arranged to the bus terminal? (Water, juice boxes, granola bars, fruit, etc) These items, I am told,  are welcomed, at this location, to be left on the table, in sight of security for independent yet overseen access. People need this food.

In as much this is my requesting such of our Region or City (or any other who may be able to assist with such).

These individuals need food. Not all are fed adequately through the kindness of current services. There are few options at this time for alternate means to acquire  food for these individuals.

This albeit small measure could aid immensely in diminishing the dis-value and struggle felt daily. A full belly helps to calm a troubled mind. Let us all aid to provide such together.
