New Provincial Funding Will Support Municipalities, Food Banks, Homeless Shelters and Individuals
$200 million in relief  funding will help municipalities and social service providers such as shelters, food banks, emergency services, charities and non-profit agencies.

Ontario Health Coalition Round Up Information March 24
Canada Revenue Agency is postponing the tax filing deadline until June 1st, and if you have to pay, the deadline is now the end of August.

Landlord and Tenant Board: 
Eviction orders postponed and no new ones to be issued
Hearings also postponed 

Employment Insurance benefits and supports 1-833-381-2725
Applying for sickness benefits when you self-isolate for 14 days
Applying for regular benefits if laid off because of the pandemic

Federal Wage and Income supports, (April 2020)
Emergency Care Benefit up to $900 biweekly for 15 weeks, workers and self employed, quarantined and sick
Workers and self employed taking care of family members who are sick
Parents with children who require care or supervision due to school closures, unable to earn employment income

Banks support for Mortgage payments and credit card payments
, 6 months deferral. Do speak to your bank directly to verify specific supports for your situation.


Ontario Extending Validation Periods for Driver, Vehicle and Carrier Products, Services and Health Cards


Ontario opening select child care centres for health care, frontline workers
 - the list will be available at this website! 

Ontario is waiving the three-month waiting period for Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) coverage.  
The province will cover the cost of COVID-19 services for uninsured people who do not meet the criteria for OHIP coverage... in addition to ensuring that expiring & expired health cards continue to have access to insured health services.

Ontario suspends time-of-use electricity rates
Increased one time GST payments by early May 2020 - the average boost will be close to $400 individuals and $600 for a couple per month. Regular payments would probably double compared to 2019-2020, but tax returns have to be submitted.

Boost to maximum annual Canada Child Benefit payments by $300 per child for 2019-20. The increase will be about $550 on average for eligible families. Families will receive an extra $300 per child in their May payment.


Reduce minimum withdrawals from Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs) by 25% for 2020 immediately, recognizing the impact of market volatility on retirement savings.
