Regan Sunshine Brussé

Yes, that is my name. Legally, on all my ID. Regan Sunshine Brussé
Yes, in some ways it is a bit cheesy. In Dutch, my first name also means "rain". Guess my parents were  hippies?

I assure you, I've had to "grow into it"  throughout my life. Picked on many times for it in my childhood (my first name being that of a president or the exorcist did not help either).

But I am an individual that works with what I have. And in this, what I have is enough personal growth, to be confident in myself enough, to accept and love the name I was given: Sunshine. This, for me took quite a bit of my life, and some weird twists in personal growth and development to come to.

I feel no shame, nor will I, for embracing its uniqueness, in essence a form of my own. For being who I am.

My one sons middle name is Ray. As in "little ray of sunshine", a piece of me. Its private uniqueness represents my own, to me at least. It was also my way of carrying on (an apparent) family tradition of hippy names, but more discretely so for him. As is Ray for him, Sunshine is my name, since the day I first had one. There is not a thing wrong with that. I nope he never feels that there is something wrong with him, for his name, for the most beautiful name I could think of to give him, when he was born.

If you haven't felt this in some way yourself in your own life that you can identify to this through, that's OK. We don't all have the same experience.

If you disagree with me that's OK too. We don't always have to agree.

This is just what I've learned in my own version of this ride we are all on.

(In case it needs to be said, these videos are OBVIOUSLY NOT MY OWN, I didn't make, contribute to, nor edit them, and do not deserve any recognition or credit for their creation, the artists do in FULL. Well done to them!)
