LRT and Affordable Housing

Picture
This morning I woke early, before anyone else in my home, to prepare for my day. The first thing on my agenda being different from my norm, I felt I needed a little more prep then the "shoes on, out the door" of some typical mornings.
You see, last Friday, the group I work with, The Alliance Against Poverty, was contacted for commentary on the effects of the LRT on the affordable housing situation in the area. Per chance, I ended up speaking to a very kind reporter via phone, on the topic. Subsequently, I was asked to join radio show host Craig Norris too discuss the topic Monday AM on his show, The Morning Edition. So this was not a normal morning for me.

I arrived early to settle in, first sitting outside for a few minutes to calm my nerves. Oddly enough, for years I have held a fear of public speaking, preferring to stay in the background. In an effort to overcome this, I have been pushing myself to speak up. In a sense you could say this website is even a form of that.

I entered a few minutes early to say hello and orient myself. Joe Pavia, Reporter/Editor, met me and kindly settled me in. After some more introductions, and some pre-show conversation, with host Craig Norris, we recorded the segment.

The link to the radio segment is gone but here is the article that followed.
